2 weeks and 3 days ago
I looked like this.
This was at 8:00 am on February 15, 2011.
Ryan and I arrived at Riverton hospital to have labor induced!
Yay!
Here's the short of it.
9 a.m. Dr England came in and broke my water
10 a.m. started pitocin
Contractions started getting pretty intense
11:30 a.m. Epidural given
Epidural DID NOT WORK!
Don't worry though. I didn't scream. I just quit talking and held my breath a lot.
Noon: nurse checked me and I was at a 4!
What the H ever! I could have sworn i was at least a 12!
12:15 p.m. 2nd epidural was given.
My contractions almost took my life
2nd epidural worked.
Pure heaven.
12:30 Dr England came to check on me.
Nurse told him, "I just checked her 30 minutes ago, shes just a 4"
Dr England told me, " Okay, well if you don't have him by 5, don't worry, I live just down the street."
12:45 p.m. Nurse came to put internal monitors on Jack.
Except she couldn't, because I was a 10, and baby J was ready to meet his mom.
12:55 Dr England ran back in
3 contractions
1:06 p.m. Jack Ryan Pond entered this world
I have honestly had more grueling mornings at The Springs of Country Woods..
I couldn't feel more grateful for this handsome little turtle.
I am thankful for the changes and blessings he brought to our lives!
He made Ryan a Daddy
Tatum a Big Sister
Me a new Mommy again
And he made our family complete!
He is the sweetest most handsome little guy ever!
He has the most beautiful olive skin.
He has perfect features.
He has a little dimple in his right cheek.
He has Ryans exact exact exact same lips.
He has the CCEEUUTEESSTT 1/2 inch square of bright white hair on the crown of his head.
Its his birthmark. The doctor said it wont go away, and has no pigment in it so it cant be dyed.
It is to DIE for cute! I am not kidding.
He has the absolute loudest 0-60 scream that you have ever heard on an infant. Seriously.
It makes you certain that somebody just pinched him. Really hard.
He nurses like its his job. A very important job that he gets paid lots for. And he takes it very seriously.
He pecks around like a frantic pigeon when he is wanting a meal, or a snack, or a binki..
So he spends a good amount of his day pecking around like a pigeon.
His little faces just crack me up all day long.
Sometimes he fake chews on fake things in his mouth, with his no teeth.
He cant sleep unless he is swaddled tightly.
He hates to be naked.
Hates lotion
Hates a dirty diaper
Hates having his diaper changed.
Hates it when I eat cadbury eggs.
Which is good news for me I suppose.
He stops crying when Tatum talks to him.
He likes to watch basketball with his daddy.
and
He is also very upset with Brian Davies.
He is a wee little peanut compared to his 3 month old cousin Landon
This is his mad face
This is Jack on his 1 week old birthday.
This is the blanket that auntie Steph made for him, and his cookie monster stuffed animal.
Don't you love his little tiny chicken legs.
My kids don't have fat roll legs. While I love these little stick legs, I adore a big fatty thigh.
This is Jack on his 2 week birthday.
Here are a few things that have changed about him:
He is now circumcised. Do you think he would be embarrassed that I told everyone that?
It was a big deal! I made Ryan stay in the room while I sat out in the hallway
and bawled as if I was the one being slaughtered.
His umbilical cord has fallen off.
He will be getting his first "real" bath today. I cant wait.
Although I don't know why, hes going to despise it.
He lays on the floor and looks around, and coos.
It makes me die.
That's why I took 2 picture of week 2. Because he was just so freaking happy rolling around there next to the cookie monster..
Who, by the way, Tatum told me is now called the veggie monster, or something like that..?
Weird..
Uh. He is just so scrumptious.
Even 9 year old Tatum loves him so much that she wants to take bites of him.
That weird trait that us women posses of relating love and food happens at a young age I guess.
So, there he is
The newest (and lastest) addition to our family.
One boy, One girl.
We are good with that.
For now anyways.. :)
The last 2 weeks has been intense.
I don't remember being quite so tired when I had Tatum.
I guess in Cedar I had my mom.
Having a new baby makes you want your mom I think.
It does me anyways.
I don't think at 21 I had the same house standards that I do now.
I only had Tatum to worry about. Now I have both.
I worry an unhealthy amount about my kids.
Seriously.
Tatum has adjusted really well considering shes been my whole world for 9 years.
She has done exceptional considering that actually.
When I had Tatum, there wasn't a crazy amount of RSV and Influenza going around, so I could leave the house. I literally haven't left the house but twice in 2 and a half weeks.
Once to get J circumcised,
Once last night to take Tatum to dinner for her birthday.
That's rough.
Rough, but worth it. I love this little man so much, that there is nothing I wouldn't do for him.
I can't wait to watch him grow, and see the sweet little guy he is going to be.
Despite his manic scream, I really think that he is going to be a sweet sweet little boy.
We love each other a lot!
Oh! Here are some pics of his room.
Hopefully he likes baseball!
His little toy box is my favorite part of his room.
Although Pottery Barn really duped me on the actual size of it, I still love it.
The pyramid of balls on the shelves above his crib, are Ryans home run balls throughout his whole life.
I absolutely love them!
Changing Table
Rys 1st pro home run bat.
In case you cant read..
Bye.
